to the reality of HYPNOTIK A.K.A. Black C. Ask Hypnotik what rap is
all about, he replies, Hard tracks, tight lyrics, creativity, street
credit, and truth. I live, eat, and breathe hip-hop. In actuality,
Im married to it. As a kid, Hypnotik left his home in St. Croix at
age 15 to escape the drug wars his father was caught up in. After
residing in Miami for two years, Hypnotik was fortunate to receive a
scholarship to a college in Baltimore, which eventually returned him
to an environment similar to the one he left in St Croix. However,
Hypnotik saw this new environment as an opportunity to express his
point of view on how to cope with the unavoidable ills of the
streets. And rapping became the platform for this expression.
Hypnotik's experience in Baltimore afforded him the opportunity to
hone his talent and surround himself with fellow Hip-Hoppers
in the game. Names like DJ Spin, Scott B, Reggie Reg, Butter Man,
B.D.U, Street legal, Ny-Gel Mak, Architects and many more helped
give Hypnotik the support that he needed to launch his career as an
MC. While in Baltimore, Hypnotik released two hot albums,
independently to the street in 1994-1996. As a matter of fact, he
was the first MC during that time to sell his product out of the
trunk, around local parks and flea markets. After nine years of
hustling on the streets, Hypnotik moved to Miami. Miami opened doors
for Hypnotik to perform with Fat Joe, Mobb Deep, Fabulous, and many
others at Miami Budweiser Music Fest. From just that one great
performance Hypnotik delivered, doors opened for him to perform at
one of Miami's Biggest Festivals, Port Fest Miami 2002, which
featured artists from around the world. No doubt, this cat created a
street name for himself through the many products he offered: a
clothing line, an animation series, and much more. As a result, he
earned the name, Black C. One of his greatest accomplishments was
Black C The Rejuvinator a personal comic book which he illustrated.
Featured in Frenzy Magazine a periodical which is distributed
exclusively to Dade County Public High Schools. Hypnotik is a true
artist in the purist form. Hypnotik's life is now yours to embark on
through the released single, Touch Me Once, the most talked about
street single from the album, See What I See. Hypnotik, humble and
talented, with a track record that speaks for itself.
